On Saturday, June 27, 2009, a kind group of people from Gap and Banana Republic,
volunteered two (2) hours of their time to help GSMYC’s Children’s Shelter prepare for our
2009 Summer Program and request for donations. Volunteers helped in a variety of ways;
from folding clothes and organizing the learning center, to hanging new nets for the basketball
court. Furthermore, other Gap/Banana Republic volunteers drove to various companies and
local businesses requesting donations for the Children’s Shelter.
In addition to volunteering, the Gap Foundation made a generous, financial contribution of
$800, to GSMYC’s Children’s Shelter, which helped pay for plumbing repairs, as wells as
new brakes for one of the shelter’s vans.
