Each year, GSMYC hosts a fundraiser to support our mission of sheltering children and strengthening families. Funds raised through this event will be used to provide continuous quality care for the children as well as our efforts to strengthen local families through counseling, parenting, and basic needs assistance.  Night of Hope was held annually at a local venue for 10+ years until the pandemic brought a halt to all social gatherings and the owners were forced to close. During the lockdown, our efforts to maintain the same services didn’t stop and, in fact, the demand for our services increased. This required us to think creatively. In time through brainstorming and collaboration, Pull for Hope was created. ​ The 1st Pull for Hope was held in 2022, where GSMYC raised $25,000 for the children’s shelter. During this all-day event, we hosted a sporting clay competition with a silent auction, bucket drop raffle, and a BBQ lunch. Our goal is to continue this annual event to raise funds for the children in our care, provide the community with friendly competition, and surpass the previous year’s total in every way—financially, in participation, and competition. GSMYC strongly believes the children in our care thrive because of the community they live in truly cares and wants to help improve their lives.
